March 27, 2026: Ash Grove (Welsh Traditional) is posted in the Book 2.
The new version here is WAY easier to play than the previous one I posted years ago. The old one also made no sense if you weren't a member of the Rocky Mountain Ukulele Orchestra in the pre-covid days.
I think you'll love this tune and won't have much challenge whooping it on TuffUke if you've finished Book 1. I did re-write the entire song because the traditional lyrics are really, umm, terrible, and most distressingly, get this, they're about an Ash Grove. Yawn. For the record, if you're not actively engaged in rewriting bad lyrics to make you happy, surprise your audience, and have a little fun, then let me encourage you to start soon. Hotel California would make a lot more sense if it was about literally anything else other than a hotel in California.
So here you now have in your arsenal the blue print you'll need to become a world famous ukulele player. You're welcome.
Remember we're getting together on Sunday nights at 7 pm Mountain time on YouTube and you should join us. Info isĀ here.
