April 14, 2025: Baritone Chord Chart is posted HERE.
Finally, after years of avoiding the pain of knowing somewhere in history somebody thought, "Yes, we'll have double sharps and that'll make sense to generations of university professors," I've finally corrected the baritone chord chart and I want you to have it right now. But, here's the thing, if you're doing ukulele the normal way, you don't really need this since there are plenty of chord finder apps for your phone and if you just need to look up some weird chord in some bad song you inexplicably love, then tap-tap-tap-aroo on your gadget and poof out comes the chord. However, if you're thinking, how does music work? What would I do if I needed to write a song about my ex-boyfriend. Why do I cry when somebody says "music theory?" then this is for you.
The chart is arranged by key, so you know what chords get along with other chords. I've also highlighted the best keys writing for baritone ukulele just as I did on the regular ukulele chart. You'll also see the "important chords" highlighted along the top.
If you want to master your instrument, you probably oughta write a song in each key. By the time you finish song number 30, you'll have two albums of rock, and you'll probably never need to look up another chord ever again. And you'll probably have a problem with whiskey. It's also helpful for arrangers when you need to transpose from one key to another without using a capo. Hopefully you don't even own a capo.
I recently did a lesson on these chord charts and you can find that HERE and a little more info HERE.
Don't forget to check the front page to keep up with what we're working on this week and join us live if you can or check out the recordings. And of course I have harmonica and guitar going too if you want to slum it with me. Let your friends know this is the greatest thing ever in music and they should join our merry little adventure to dominate the world.
